When one wants to find patterns in chaos, they depend on their knowledge in Enigmas. Characters with this talent link information and hunches together to solve conundrums of all varieties, from the spiritual to the material. It’s not that they have any sort of ESP, they just put things together uncannily well. This skills is most useful in unraveling codes, solving puzzles, navigating complex system.

  • Possessed by: Occultists, Scholars, Spies, Philosophers, Raving Nutcases
  • Specialties: Deductions, Riddles, Visions, Twisted Plots, Logic Problems, Ancient Mysteries, Bureaucracies, Codes, Conspiracies, Research


General Roll Results
  • Success: The attempt is successful. Either your PC decodes the information or obscures it.
  • Exceptional Success: If the roll was an attempt to decode information, you get more then you hoped you would. Perhaps you are able to intuit someone's motivations or discover something you weren't looking for. If you are trying to hide something, they the information is exceptionally well hidden.
  • Failure: Your PC's efforts fail, but at least you know it. You can try again with a -1 penalty.
  • Dramatic Failure: Your PC failed to decipher the information but you are convinced you succeeded. Staff will provide you a dramatically appropriate misinterpretation. Alternately, if the PC is attempt to hide something, it's hopelessly transparent.
